Hi Niche Celebrity Superstars!  I hope ya’ll are doing well.  Things are bright and shiny here in LA and California.  Today I’ve got an idea for you.

It’s actually something I got from a friend of mine who lives in Manila right now.  He’s actually from Texas but he’s also one of  my NicheCeleb clients.  He’s a prolific blogger but he’s actually somewhat of a ‘ham’ too….I mean, he’s anything but ‘camera shy’.

He has been sending me little 5 second videos of himself doing all sorts of crazy things.  Like just the other day I got one of him riding a Jeepney.

If you don’t know, Jeepneys are those vehicles, unique to the Philippines, that are based on the old WW2 jeeps but have an extended back end.  In the Philippines, and especially in Manila where my friend lives, Jeepneys are one of the main ways people get around the city.

So, the other day, my friend sends me a video and on the video he say’s, “Hi Thom, it’s me Art over here in Manila and I’m camera comfortable riding a Jeepney!”

And I’ve got videos of him walking down the street eating ice cream……,“Hi Thom, it’s me…Art.  And I’m camera comfortable eating ice cream on the street here in Manila!”

So, I kind of took great inspiration in that.  I wish all my video and acting coaching students were as ‘natural’ as Art is on camera.  It just doesn’t seem to phase him at all.

So here’s the deal….

Why don’t you, the rest of my NicheCeleb friends….if you’ve got a pocket video camera, why don’t you take some time during your day and send me a video just saying ‘hi’ and using the phrase ‘camera comfortable’ and/or ‘camera shy’.  I think it’s better to use the affirmative ‘camera comfortable’ rather than the slightly negative ‘camera shyness’…..but you can do it any way you want.

Just remember that the basic idea is:  Some brief moment in your day, doing something unique if possible, or funny, or terribly boring….and just make a little cameo appearance and send me a 5 second (or less) video.

If I get several of them I’ll edit them all together and put them on my site.  I think it could be really cool to see how many things you all can be ‘camera comfortable’ doing and in how many places you are.

I know it works because I’ve been teaching actors how to play ‘real people’ for years.  And several years ago I started teaching business executives, salespeople, and generally anybody who was interested how to shape and mold their personalities just like actors do.  Most of my students get really good at it.
