(High-tech tool for our troops in tough job market)

The YouTube online video resume can be an effective and reliable weapon for our troops returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.  Say or think what you want about those conflicts….no one can deny that these young men and women of our US military took the ultimate risk to do something they thought was right.  They need help right now and the YouTube online video resume is a free and effective tool that can help them get jobs when they come back home.

It’s no secret that the US job market is rather ‘soft’ right now (to say the least!).  Now, these returning veterans need all the help they can get to re-integrate back into the US economy.  Many of them come back with not only advanced technical, managerial and administrative skills but also that most elusive of skills…..leadership ability…and our country is in sore need of effective leadership right now.

The YouTube online video resume, utilizing the totally free resource of YouTube and online video marketing is a great way for them to maximize their chances of getting a job as quickly as possible in a very tight job market.

I’m working on a project right now that I hope will help some of these troops get back into the ‘employed’ column as rapidly as possible.  Everybody knows what a ‘drag’ it is to go job hunting.  It’s never been fun but I’m going to be offering totally free coaching to our returning veterans on how to maximize their job hunting exposure and impact on the job opportunities that do exit.

I’ve been saying for many months now how effective YouTube video is in helping the digital-age business man and woman make the vital connection with their market that precedes actually doing business.  It came to me, in a flash, several weeks ago, that the same YouTube technology and online video marketing methods that are being used so successfully to sell goods and services in the US consumer marketplace could also be used to help our US military servicemen and women get jobs.

Actually, when you think about it, it’s not much of a stretch of the imagination that YouTube online video can be effective in helping people get jobs.  Politicians and entertainers have been using YouTube online video very effectively for several years now.  So….it only makes sense that a YouTube online video resume could help our returning troops get back into the US job market ASAP.

I’m still putting the finishing touches on my program so I’m not ready to reveal all the details yet.  But I’m very excited about it and several of my close friends and collaborators are too.  I can hardly wait to tell you more about it.

In the meantime, if you know anyone coming back from Iraq or Afghanistan let me make a request to you.  Ask them if they’re going to be looking for help getting back into the job market.  If they are…..suggest to them that they subscribe to our blog (here) and be ready to take advantage of some free help that I’m going to be giving them on how to use free YouTube tools, and my free coaching, to get back into the ‘employed’ column again..

I’ve helped countless students in Hollywood and real-life business use video to ‘win’ in their respective niches.  Now, I feel really “pumped”, challenged and honored to be able to use my acting coaching and presentation skills for this purpose that I think is so noble and well deserved by our troops returning from risking their lives for me…..and YOU. They need our help and I’m going to definitely do my part.

American heroes are coming home.  Our Vets need jobs.  Unemployment is a problem that cannot be solved over night but we have to start somewhere.  We are calling it “Jobs Just 4 Vets”.  It’s a project that we can all be part of, that can help our vets get back on our feet.  It is a project that can truly help vets find a job, a project that states we care and thank you for your service.
