Hi YouTube Superstars. I hope you’re doing well.  I’ve got a heads-up for you today about where I think YouTube is going.  If you’re really serious about your cinematography, you’ll find it interesting.

Did you know that YouTube actually has its own ‘movie channel’?

They sure do.  It’s called Youtube Rentals Beta.  Here’s the URL.  And I want you to be sure and make note of the fact that you can both rent and watch other people’s movies and you can submit your own.

That’s right.  ‘Submit your own movies’ and set your own pricing and everything.  Check the page link for more details.  But here’s what’s important.

YouTube and Google are all about content right now.  That means that if you can create good content you can literally make money and/or become famous.  YouTube and Google are eager to have and promote your content!

My sons, James, Tyler and Will have done it with their GoPotatoTV YouTube Channel and they started from knowing very little about it just like you.  So I know you can learn to produce videos that attract large audiences too.  .

If you enjoy it, like my sons do, it’s not really work.  And YouTube gives you tools that aspiring movie makers 30 years ago would ‘kill’ for.  It’s all there for you to take advantage of.

Your content doesn’t have to be drama either.  Remember that YouTube is the second largest search engine on the web right now and people look on it for an unbelievably wide variety of information.  You could build your own brand of content about Frisbee, Forex, Standup Comedy, TwentyOne (i.e. the card game), Bachata Dancing, Bartending, DIY Plumbing, Crochet……the choice is up to you.

I guarantee you that if you don’t do it….somebody else will.   I can promise you that. You’re sitting on a gold mind because YouTube gives you great tools, a great platform and a huge support community of people with similar aspirations as you.  All you have to do is start poking around under their “Help” section and then start experimenting.  It’s as simple as that.
