The Dance that made You "Faint!"
Heaven Hi!!!
If you didn’t watch Dancing with the Stars last night you missed an eye shocking event, only it had nothing to do with the dance. After Marie Osmond’s performance she was breathing very heavily while the judges gave their feedback. In the middle of the critique she started to laugh then suddenly her eyes closed and she dropped to the ground like a stone. Audiences were shocked to see the world famous performer fall to the floor where she left every body speechless.
It was reported that the first words out of her mouth when she finally came to was, “oh crap.” She was more embarrassed then anything else. She later went on to explain regarding her condition that “once in a while that happens to me when I get winded. I stop breathing.”
The hit ABC series pairs celebrities with professional dancers and is drawing more than 35 million viewers for its dance-off and results shows. The show puts its stars through rigorous dance routines that test many of them and proved too much for at least one.
If you don’t even know who Marie Osmond is, welcome back from the moon. Marie Osmond was part of the famous singing group “The Osmonds.” However, Marie’s talent is not just limited to singing and dancing, she also now creates and sells dolls. Quite divers.
Now if we look at the six components that make up human behavior we can look at Marie and see how she utilizes her creativity. Marie is obviously quite talented, but what does it take to reveal that talent. It takes being in BOP. In order for someone like Marie Osmond to perform you can see that she is 50% humanities for her passion with performing along with her love for people. She then focuses 25% of her creative behavior on her humor by entertaining the crowds, and being know for her inegmatic smile and her laugh. She know how to find the positive in life by tapping into her funny zone. The other 25% is her sexuality, and how she reveals that by moving her body, and making a 25 degree shift to draw in the crowds.
You can see in my book Acting For Real how you yourself can use these same principle that the stars do to develop characters for the stage, screen, and even dancefloor. So pick up my book and take a look. It’s all there, and it’s about time you take part in the action.
They say in life that action is lifes’ only command. So why not start here? Ready, set, ACTION???!!! But just make sure you don’t faint.
Be BOP!!!
Thom
