Is Giving More For The Charity Or The Celebrity?
Heaven Hi!!!
Meet Paris Hilton, all grown up. Paris Hilton has decided to make a vow to use her celebrity status to do good in the world. She openly admitted that her live was all about glitz, glamour, and parties, but now has reversed gears completely.
Who knew this day was going to come…….. Hands?
The real question is: Are we really buying this?
She is now off to Rwanda, Africa for a 5 day charity mission called “Playing For Good.” They will visit schools and health care clinics in an attempt to bring aid to those in need.
Time will tell if the celebrity heiress is really on a charity crusade out of the tenderness of our own heart. In the event that Paris Hilton does bring peace and aid to the children of Africa, one stops to wonder if charity has become a ‘get out of jail free” card for celebrities.
Has charity become a joke? Is it another form of community service? Instead of traffic school, am I able exchange that penalty to a month long charitable event in Rwanda? We have to consider the intentions and the outcomes behind what is really being done here?
In this day in age there are children all over the world that are less fortunate to have, even the basic necessities of human life. At Acting For Real we donate 15% of our product revenue to organizations such as Feed The Children, and Mercy Corps. Just as we learn from the Title of Bill Clinton’s book, Giving, we should all feel the need to give. Furthermore, we should encourage more of these celebrities who are using their star status and financial standings to aid the less fortunate out of the compassion of their own heart, instead of the need of good publicity.
Be BOP!!!
