DAD…..our favorite Star
Father’s Day is coming up soon. This would be a great time to make a movie with your number one favorite celebrity….your dad.
Did you ever wish you could get to talk to a famous person? Most people have. But who’s really more famous than dad?
Nobody does what dad does. He goes to work every day, he makes decisions. He helps, he leads, he defends……his job isn’t easy.
Hollywood movies stars have publicity agents and press agents but dads don’t. They do their job every day and it seems don’t ask much in return. And the time passes. And eventually….dad’s not there.
When you’re young it seems like dad is always there. We grow to take them for granted, don’t we? Often times we don’t really begin to appreciate him til later in life. The sad thing is that sometimes he’s gone before we have time and the language to tell him how much we love him.
Time changes things doesn’t it?
The dad that you knew…..his face changes, maybe his voice changes, his waistline changes, he doesn’t move quiet as fast, sometimes he doesn’t stand quiet as straight, and he maybe doesn’t go outside quite as much but tends to just sit in his favorite chair.
And today, with the economy the way it is, some families are not doing as well as they used to be. There’s a different atmosphere around the house. In fact, some dads have lost their jobs. And the dads who are working…many of them aren’t as ‘happy-face’ as they used to be.
It’s basic to human nature to be optimistic. But nobody doubts that the tough times we face as a country are not going to be a brief little interlude of inconvenience but are rather are going to be a severe test of the very fabric of our society.
And what’s more basic to the strength of our country, our communities and our families than “Dad” (and moms too of course).
As Father’s Day approaches this would be a great time to express your appreciation, confidence and love for your dad. He won’t ask for it but, as a ‘dad‘ myself, I can promise you that he’ll be deeply moved by it.
The traditional doctrines that made America the land that everybody wanted to come to are threatened today and one of those core doctrines is the importance of dad within the family.
But make no mistake about it….none of the good things we have would have happened without dads. Dads built the visible substance of our country. Dads defended it when necessary. Dads have always been there.
For sure…..Dads are the leading male role in our family. And you’re very lucky if you can reach out and actually touch yours. You really are looking at a Superstar.
You’re fortunate if you’ve still got a dad around that you can reach out and touch and talk to. A lot of people nowadays don’t.
Dads today sometimes don’t have the time they once did to express their love as openly as they should. Time changes things, right? But they still love, they still care, and they still are…..Dads.
Dads are by nature the ‘hunter’ of the family. Lots of dads are looking for different ways to ensure the safety and comfort of their family. Many
dads are thinking about starting home based business because they realize that the old values of family togetherness still count.
I’m a dad too. I’ve got three sons, James and Tyler, who are full time in the video business….and Will who is an actor just like me.
James and Tyler are doing great in video marketing (specializing in YouTube) and they were one of the original YouTube Partners. And there’s Will who is actually the full time, professional actor in the family….just like me.
I’m tremendously proud of all their accomplishments. James and Tyler helped me in making and launching my new acting training course called NicheCeleb and Will is doing great in his an acting career.
Nothing can ever replace the camaraderie that we share from being involved in an inter-related business. We all enjoy the sharing of experiences and professional tips about what we’re doing in video, video marketing, Hollywood, acting, YouTube and internet marketing….we’re lucky to be able to communicate and share so much of our lives together.

But no matter what you do or what your dad does….if he’s still alive, on this Father’s Day I hope you’ll give him a call and tell him how much you love and appreciate him. If you can go see him, please do so.
If you can actually go see him, why not take your video camera and make a video and send it to me. If you’ll give me permission, I might even put it up on my blog. Ask him some questions about his life and get the answers on video. And get a clip of yourself telling him how much you love him. He needs it….you need it….and America needs it.
That video will be one of your most treasured possessions as life goes on and I can promise you that dad will never forget this Father’s Day.
