American Idol Fifteen minutes of Fame,or a lifetime of pain.
Is there Overwhelming Success?
These days, that seems to be the trade off for those looking for fortune by way of a reality show.
The thinking for many is that the ticket to easy street is as simple as signing up for any number of reality shows.
What many forget is that appearing on a reality show is a lot more complicated than just signing up for a couple of hours of prime-time television
Participants, either willingly or unknowingly, are also agreeing to all the caveats that come with suddenly being recognizable to everyone from the paparazzi to the bill collector..
There is a downside to fame and many find that they can’t handle the bright lights once they get there.
The pressure from sudden global success can be enormous. Everywhere you go, people recognize you and want a piece of you.
Take, for instance, "Britain’s got Talent" standout Susan Boyle. The Scottish singer who said she wanted to be "as successful as Elaine Page" has skyrocketed to international fame well beyond Paige’s musical theater notoriety and into the realm of someone more like Madonna.
For Example,
After her bout with exhaustion and her stay in the hospital. People stepped in to help her like Simon Cowell, to make sure she could make the transition to BOP.
Susan Boyle is a lady transformed. And while diehard fans may insist she was fine just as she was, something about her smile says she won’t be going back to her old look. She has good coach’s to protect her and their STAR.
The “Britain’s Got Talent” star sold an astounding 700,000 plus copies of her debut album in the US., giving her the best first week sales of 2009.
It’s also the biggest debut album by any artist since Snoop Dogg’s ‘Doggystyle’ in 1993.
Here’s to modesty. Success can shock people. It can throw people off BALANCE. So, the real question is, are you ready for success?
In my book, Acting For Real, I talk about being in BOP (balanced, observant, and present), that is to be in the State of Greatness.
As an acting coach I’ve coached many Hollywood stars on their road to success, and one thing is key; balance is moderation.
If you are BOP, you are ready for success. However, if you are shy, afraid to bust out of your comfort zone or struggle with habitual behaviors you will benefit from several lessons in Acting for Real. Primarily, get a life coach. Then you will be better prepared to achieve success from your talents.
Like Susan Boyle, many young people in Hollywood find that success can be overwhelming if they are not ready for it. Take for example the struggles encountered by Lindsey Lohan, Robert Downey Jr. or Brittney Spears during their assent into super stardom. Few people are prepared for that level of attention or scrutiny. Therefore we ask ourselves: how can we better approach the pressure-cooker of success and its demands without being thrown off BALANCE?
The answer is simple. Be in a state of BOP. BOP equals excellence!
If you are success-driven and have a passion to be the star of your life rather than a bit player, pick up my book Acting For Real, (information to your right). Learn how to be balanced, observant and present. Learn BOP and you will be ready to be the Celebrity in your life.
From start to finish, Acting For Real will give you the skills to live a happy, successful life, while preparing you for whatever your talents bring.
Be BOP!!!
