2011 Video For A Happy New Year
Are you up a tree about the New Year, the start of a new decade 2011? How are you going to celebrate, do you have a Script for success? If you don’t have a plan, make one and video it.
So here we are at that time of year where we pretend we want our lives to be different because a mark on the calendar says we ought to evaluate our lives and our results and fix them. Let’s talk about resolutions. Here’s my list of ideas for you if you want next year to look different than last year
Video your resolutions Write them out. Work from a scripted document, not from thought. The good news is that when you write things down and Video it you might find out that things aren’t as bad as you first thought.The key is that you will actually know after you have taken the time to script it and shoot it. Remember: Problems get smaller when written down and goals become more tangible when you can look at them. Now story board your. action plan for each area of your life then video it.
Focus on Wins, not activity. Don’t get bogged down in the busy work. Check your Video weekly to know if you are really making progress.
Make sure your Video is actually YOUR goal. People change when they have a need and desire to, not when someone else wants them to. You won’t lose weight because your wife needs you to. You will lose weight when your need and desires out weigh your superficial whims of wanting to. When you decide to change, you will make it a goal, you will sacrifice and you will work all because it is important to YOU. That is why you need to be the Star in your New Year Resolution Video.

A person can not do this if they are “verbally naked.” A person must have an arsenal of vocabulary from which to work. While slang and lingo are appropriate in some circumstances, they will not put you in the same rapport in other circumstances.
As an “Actor For Real” we must be able to have flexibility in our vocabulary to meet our needs in a variety of situations.
Your character at a board meeting will not get you the same respect using slang, as it will when you are hangin’ with the homies.

Father’s Day Meets Father Time: 100 Years of Celebrating Pops!

Father’s Day Celebration has been seen as a remarkable day in history and this year 2010 marks the 100th anniversary of the first Father’s Day…
The first Father’s Day dates back to 1909, in Spokane, Washington. Sonora Smart-Dodd was listening to a Mother’s Day sermon at her church.
The lecture inspired her to have a special day dedicated to her father, William Jackson-Smart, who had brought up her and her siblings single-handedly after their mother died.
Sonora realized the greatness of her father and wanted to let him know how deeply she was touched by his sacrifices, courage, selflessness and love. To pay a tribute to her great dad, Sonora held the first Father’s Day celebration on the 19th of June 1910, on his birthday.
Who would have thunk the first Father’s Day was founded after a Mr. Smart? Maybe that’s why we think all dads should be smart.
On this Father’s Day, be a smart dad—hang out with your kids as much as possible because they’re grown before you know it. I sure wish I had spent more time with my dad.
Dad took me fishing, camping, hunting—and I don’t me duck hunting on the computer. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t remember something my dad taught me. I guess this is why I love this quote from Mark Twain:
“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”
Be a smart dad by having your kids teach you something on Father’s Day—kids love to show you things—learn something new and make them feel good at the same time. I can’t wait for my kids to show up this weekend. I have lots to learn on this information highway.
In 1900, a father waited for the doctor to tell him when the baby arrived. Today, a father must wear a smock, know how to breathe, and make sure film is in the video camera.
Like many precious things in life, the joy of becoming a father is a special feeling; a father grows with time; evolves and strives to become better. The real reason behind that is: Father’s are not Born, they are made and they become better with time.
